Overview

SVP Portland works hand in hand with community preschool organizations and their leaders, to strengthen skills and build capacity so they can expand and serve more children. Through our core programs, Ready to Grow and Building Together, we provide resources, coaching, and collaborative learning opportunities that help preschool leaders grow their capabilities and extend their impact across the Portland community. Read more below to learn about our work with Community Partners, the programs we deliver and how you and your organization can receive support from SVP Portland.

Community Organization Support

We work with organizations that are dedicated to helping children and families in marginalized communities. These community organizations are at the center of everything we do.

Our goal is to help these organizations expand their impact by providing them with a mix of strategic support, capacity-building, and funding. We work alongside each organization, building strong, trusting relationships and offering tailored support for their specific goals, such as developing a strategic plan or improving financial reporting and management.

We also offer flexible funding, since we trust that leaders know where they need it most. Our unique, hands-on approach provides community organizations with sustained support that helps them not only grow, but thrive.

Ready to Grow Program

Supporting Preschool Leaders on the Path to Expansion

Ready to Grow is a program designed to help early learning leaders strengthen their organizations. Through hands-on coaching and a powerful peer network, participants gain the skills and confidence to grow their programs.

So far, we've helped more than 20 local organizations expand their reach, giving more children in Portland access to high-quality early learning.

Building Together Program

A Collaborative Effort to Strengthen the Preschool Ecosystem

Building Together is SVP Portland’s initiative to strengthen early childhood education by uniting preschool providers, funders, public agencies, and advocates to tackle shared challenges. What began as a call for open dialogue has grown into a trusted platform for collaboration, addressing barriers like permitting, workforce burnout, and facility shortages. By giving providers a voice and fostering strong cross-sector partnerships, Building Together is helping create a more connected, resilient, and high quality preschool ecosystem across our community.
