SVPP Introduces 2009-2011 Strategic Plan

January 13, 2009

Nine years after the founding of Social Venture Partners Portland, its Board of Directors and Partner community proudly introduces a three-year strategic plan for building on our early successes and leveraging the unique and dynamic venture philanthropy model and Partner community. Crafted with the help of Partners, Investees, SVP sister affiliates and Portland-area community leaders, strategies include:

  • SVPP Family: teaching and engaging our kids in philanthropic values
  • Resource Teams: expertise- and interest-based Partner engagement groups
  • Partnership community events: Chew on This! dinner discussions, Lunch and Learn site visits, a strategic philanthropy curriculum and more
  • Two venture philanthropy funds built on our most successful investments in both community-wide, start-up solutions and pivotal organization capacity building
  • Doubling our Partnership to increase our philanthropic impact, extend the benefits of our model to more Portlanders and achieve economies of scale

The planning was made possible by a grant from the Oregon Community Foundation. We are grateful for their support.
