About SVPP
Social Venture Partners Portland (SVPP) is a community of engaged donors. We believe in doing more than attending auctions or writing checks. For us, really giving back means contributing our expertise and networks along with our donations.
It means rolling up our sleeves and getting involved.
It means becoming more strategic donors.
SVPP helps build our community’s capacity to get things done: advancing initiatives; achieving results; improving lives.
Since SVPP’s inception, we have invested more than $1.4 million in the Portland metro area. But our value to nonprofits goes way beyond this grant funding to include the value of our Partners’ time, co-investments from other foundations and philanthropists, the operational outputs and benefits to our Investees and sometimes important intangibles like confidence, vision and security.
We track our progress and estimate the total philanthropic impact to the community. Our CASH Oregon investment has returned $75 million to Portland thanks in large part to SVPP. Our work with Morrison Child and Family Services saved them an estimated $1.7 million and left them with an electronic medical records system that helped them save time, money and data on their clients. Our efforts with nonprofits delivers true impact and it’s the best way to demonstrate how our engaged philanthropy model can achieve significant results for our community.
But our long-term impact is rooted in our Partners–donors with a passion to make a difference in our community by improving the way nonprofits operate and the ways they give back.
